How many people should be limited to an elevator?

That depends on the size of the elevator cab. In some cases, buildings with multiple elevators have instituted a one person per cab rule. Given that traffic has lessened due to quarantine, it isn’t as difficult as it may seem to institute this. Many associations have also put hand sanitizing stations outside of the elevators in the lobby so that individuals can be encouraged to sanitize before entering the cab and touching anything, and also they are being encouraged to use a napkin, tissue or have gloves on when they touch their floor’s button. And, some properties ensure that their cleaning staff sanitizes the elevators button pads 2-4 times an hour as a precautionary measure.
