Yes, a board can designate an elevator to transport residents that feel sick to prevent the potential spread of the illness. If doing so, the Board should make sure that appropriate language is drafted by counsel so that it is not discriminatory. Several condominiums that have multiple elevators have instituted this policy. They have even gone so far as to create a designated entry to the building (e.g. a side door) for individuals who are feeling sick.
